Stone is butted up to each other tightly, leaving no gaps for grout. Gives a modern, refined look. This style requires a lot more skill and precision, as almost every piece of stone will need to be cut or trimmed to shape. Most cutting will be hand cut with a hammer. Note: The stone is not literally dry-stacked, each piece of stone is securely fixed to the substrate with high-strength adhesive.
Dry- stack effect

Grouted stonework maintains uniform gaps between each piece of stone, to be filled with a mortar-type grout. This is the classic stone installation look. Grout colours can be individually tailored to your tastes.

Ledgestone can be either grouted or dry-stacked, but is usually suited to dry-stacking. What separates it from other stone types is that, unlike random, irregular stone pieces, ledgestones have a strong linear, horizontally coursed look. The pieces are much closer to rectangular compared to random loose stone. Despite this, ledgestone still is a natural stone.
